Spicy Couples Boudoir Session in Portland, OR: The Ultimate Date
If you have come across this post, you may have been seeing Boudoir and wondering if it’s something you want to do. And should you up the ante, and bring your spouse for the ultimate date?? If you’re looking to strengthen your connection with your partner, leave feeling eager to get your hands on your spouse, and want to take home some epic images, too, then the answer is YES. And I am here to guide you through it.
Hi! My name is Jamie, and I love photographing boudoir sessions to help people feel more confident.
As your photographer, posing guide, confidence coach, and safety committee, it is my utmost priority to make sure you both feel safe, comfortable, sexy, and have fun. I pose my clients from head to toes, help with outfit choices, make dumb jokes that are sure to make you smile (or cringe, but surely, you’ll give me a pity smile!), and even show images on the same day as the session.
A Couples Boudoir Session is tailored to fit each of my clients. If the couple wants to stay fully clothed, then we will do that. If they want to get spicier, move their hands in ways they would if they were alone in their own bed, that’s ok, too. Obviously there are limits, I do have boundaries. But I want your images to look natural, not forced. After we have chosen your outfits, I give directions on how to pose throughout the session for each of you. If you have ideas, that’s great! But if not, no biggie. I’m the pro here, and trust, I have SO many ideas. Probably so many that you could even do five or more sessions and I’d STILL have new poses and ideas for you! My goal is for you both to leave feeling more connected to one another, and have the photos to prove it!
This particular couple asked me to only share anonymous shots of the male, which I was totally ok with. Your privacy is a top priority for me. Rest assured that I will only share images you approve, and if you opt to keep them all private, that’s also ok! These two were celebrating an anniversary and wanted to make it special. They brought toys from home and told me that no pose is off the table! So I gently guided them into poses that felt natural for them as a couple. I send a questionnaire before each session so I can get to know each client better, and a lot of clients also hop on a phone call with me, too, so we can get to know personalities even more and get a feel for the vibe of your session.
Once you arrive, we will talk about your outfits for a few minutes. Show me every thing you brought, do a little fashion show in the studio if you need help deciding on options, and I’ll give you my thoughts. During the session, I also show poses with my own body first. Then once you’re doing it, I’ll help you into it using words, sometimes my hands if you need that extra help. And as you’re posing, don’t be afraid to move! Move your hands, shake your hair, adjust legs, and for the love of all things, do not forget to BREATHE!!!!! Seriously. You’d be surprised by how often I have to remind people to breathe. It’s a lot to think about while you’re in each pose, so don’t worry, I’m happy to give you the reminder. And while we’re on the topic of things people forget, do not skip meals leading up to your session! Especially breakfast. Promise? Ok, now that we have that out of the way, let’s continue.. During the session, I’ll make minor adjustments as needed if something is distracting, like moving your hair, adjusting straps, etc, or I’ll ask your spouse to help with that, since you’ll be posing together. The session can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and half, depending on which Collection you pre-purchase.
I send each of my clients a pre-session prep guide to help prepare them for the session! This is helpful when it comes to outfit choice, what else to bring, how to prep your skin and hair, etc. My studio also has a client wardrobe that you’re welcome to borrow from if you have no clue where to find outfits (or don’t care to!). For men, they can typically find their wardrobe at home as I usually recommend staying simple. Stick to neutrals like black, white, and gray, and no patterns. Basic boxers, briefs, and boxer briefs are all great, and jeans, slacks, plain tees, button ups, and accessories such as a belt, socks, tie, watch, are all great to have on hand, too. Basically, men can dress how they would normally, just think business-casual. For women, the ideas a truly endless. You can start in a cocktail dress if you want to start by feeling a little glam, and then transition into some lingerie that makes you feel sexy, and maybe even consider posing nude or with a sheet. The choice is yours!
You set the tone of the session, and I’ll help create what you’re looking for. The studio is a judge-free zone, all I ask is for you to respect my boundaries, and I will of course respect yours. <3
